In 1983, one woman started with bags of garri, rice, beans, plantain, and palm oil. From Port Harcourt, she shipped food to families as far as Kano and Bornu — driven by one goal: feed her family, and feed the nation. Diligently. Dutifully. Through sun and rain. By 1985, her path led to the waters. She built trust with fishermen across the Eastern Ijaw settlements and took her stall to the heart of the Niger Delta’s seafood trade: the ever-bubbling Creek Road Market. There, among the smoke and salt of dried fish, crayfish, and prawns, she became a name customers relied on.
Her name is Elder Patience Abali — the Ogbia woman whose patience built an empire one customer at a time.
